Job Description

Position Purpose:

-The Category Supervisor (CS) will aid the Senior Category Supervisor (SCS) in overseeing one or several product categories belonging to one of the three main groups: Ready-to-Eat, Counter Food, or Proprietary Beverage programs in the 7-Eleven Viet Nam convenience store system. 

- As a CS at 7-Eleven, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, enhancing product offerings, and ensuring the continuous improvement of the company‘s offerings. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the development of new products, optimization of existing ones, and the implementation of strategic initiatives that align with 7-Eleven‘s business goals, our customers’ discerning and diverse tastes and health requirements while meeting the strictest food safety standards and upholding the high 7-Eleven global brand benchmarks.

Primary job duties:

1. Product Development:

  • Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of new products, ensuring they meet market demands and customer preferences.
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to formulation, testing, and production scale-up.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, and quality assurance to bring products to store successfully.

2. Collaboration and Partnerships:

  • Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and research institutions to leverage external expertise and resources.
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration or strategic partnerships that can enhance Category capabilities and accelerate innovation.

3. Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Ensure that all products developed meet the company‘s quality and safety standards, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Implement robust testing protocols and quality control measures to maintain product consistency and integrity.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of research methodologies, results, and project progress.
  • Generate regular reports for senior management, providing insights into achievements, challenges, and future plans.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Food Nutrition, QA/QC, Business Administration, Culinary degree or equivalent certificate with a minimum of three (3) years of food service experience, culinary experience in F&B or RnD department or manufacturing companies of large corporations.
  • In-depth knowledge of product development processes, including ideation, formulation, testing, and scale-up.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to food and beverage products.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to innovate and bring new ideas to fruition.
  • Ability to travel frequently to/from meetings and to various locations especially to partner’s production and staging facilities and on-site to stores in Viet Nam. Ability to travel and stay for periods of 1-4 weeks outside of VietNam at least once or twice a year.
